ABOUT THE COMPANY

The company was founded in late 2011 to bridge the gap in level of accounting services provided by administrative staff doing bookkeeping work and tax accountants. Small business owners often struggle as they outgrow the bookkeepers that they have used since the first started of their companies because many bookkeepers simply do not have the technical accounting knowledge or experience to keep up the changes and complexities that comes with a growing business. However, tax accountants or CPAs often focus on tax reporting and high level financial reporting, leaving business owners on their own to figure out how to deal with the day-to-day back office accounting needs, such as cutting check, handling vendors, invoicing, employees, payroll, etc.

Count Em Beans hires experienced bookkeepers, further developed and trained within Count Em Beans, and provides service packages that can be customized to accommodate the budget and growth of a small business. From straightforward traditional bookkeeping work to a full accounting department, Count Em Beans bookkeepers can do as much or as little as a owner needs.

ABOUT THE OWNER

Tiffany Kao started her accounting career as an auditor, senior accountant, and accounting manager, which gave her an unique mix of public and private accounting. As an auditor, she learned to read and analyze financial statements at a high-level and recognized the ideal processes and procedures that would make for an efficient accounting operation in order to design and implement audits. As an Accounting Manager, she rolled up her sleeves and worked in every aspect of the accounting function, from vouching invoices to cutting checks to depositing receipts, so she implemented practical accounting processes and learned how to provide useful financial reports to executives/business owners. After several years of working a nine-to-five, or in the case of most public accountants and managers, a nine-to-nine, she decided that she simply had to make a bigger impact in the world. So, at 27, she started Count Em Beans.

In her spare time, Tiffany is an avid reader, writer, hiker, and traveler. She currently resides in Fairfax County, VA.
